Flatmates wanted in very central Tokyo

Are you interested in living with Japanese roommates in central Tokyo? I have been running two Western-style flatshare in central Tokyo for over a decade.

  • English/Japanese mixed languages
  • co-ed mixed gender
  • multicultural (locals and foreigners)
  • autonomously governed

It’s not a Japanese “sheahausu”

This is NOT the so-called Japanese “share house”-es, but an authentic Western-style flateshare. “Sheahausu”, become popular in Japan around 2007, where they are mostly operated by big companies, since Japanese people tend to trust companies over individuals a lot. As these flats are privately operated, indivisual-to-individual style, it is more efficient and cost friendly. There are no middleman fees, contract commissions, or other obligations.

Our flatshares are managed autonomously. In other words, the people dictate the environment. If there are any issues, you discuss with other flatmates. This is the type of flatshare I have lived in for many years before I had a family. I would like to keep the tradition.

I have been managing several shared apartments in central Tokyo. I rent the rooms directly to renters without any real-estate agency. Some rooms are offered as are, sometimes with furniture and appliances left by former residents. Renovating by renters would be favored.

I used to manage other flatshares in Hatsudai and Machida, which I had to stop, because of rising real estate prices.

I, myself had been living with other flatmates, both in Japan and overseas.

For properties owners: If you want to sell or sublease properties which can be used for shared accommodation in central Tokyo (Chiyoda, Shinjuku, Bunkyo, Minato are ideal. Maybe Shibuya, Toshima and Chuo, too.), please let me know.
