Ciao a tutti, nell' estate 1998 ho vissuto in Giappone (Tokyo) per circa
3 mesi poi me ne sono andato perche' il mio visto era finito e non sono
riuscito a farne un'altro, ma nonostante tutto, ho avuto una bella
esperienza, sopratutto da quando ho trovato una stanza nel flat di Akky
nei pressi di  Minami Machida.

Si, perche' stavo diventando matto a cercare un posto nei pressi di
Tokyo che non costi una follia.

Ne ho visti parecchi,  ma poi ho avuto fortuna, cercando sul "Tokyo
notice Board" (un settimanale gratuito di annunci che si trova nei posti
come bar, records store come la Virgin etc. ed e' scritto in inglese),
ho trovato l'annuncio di Akky che affittava una stanza nel suo
appartamento per un prezzo molto ragionevole!

Quando sono andato a vedere non ci volevo credere, un'appartamento
bellissimo, pulito, e con tutti i confort , come l'acesso a internet
etc.

Bello, spazioso e ospitale.

Per fortuna anche la persona che abitava nella stanza vicino alla mia
(Ryan) un'australiano, era molto simpatico.

Mi pareva di rivivere le sensazioni di quotidianeita' che avevo quando
ero andato a vivere a Londra e vivevo nello stesso flat con altre 2
persone.

Per me vivere quel periodo da Akky e stato molto positivo, perche' Akky
e' un Giapponese aperto ai stranieri e a me e' stato utile perche' cosi
sono riuscito a capire tante cose della cultura e del carattere dei
giapponesi grazie alle coversazioni che ho fatto con Akky molte volte.
Poi dal balcone dell'appartamento nelle giornate senza nuvoli si vede il
monte Fuji!

Grazie ad Akky la mia permanenza e' stata meravigliosa e spero che
quando ritornero' in Giappone andro' di nuovo a fargli visita.

My name is Pam Q, I've been living at Akky's apartment since Dec 99.  I'm enjoying living at Akkys house.  Akky has a really chilled out & intelligent character.

His house comes equiped with everything you could want *including a playstation, and washer/dryer!  and the view from the balcony is great on a clear day/night.

The lounge has a mixture of traditional Japanese style, partly due to the low table & cushions, and space aged technology like a fax (In Japan a fax is essential, due to the lack of road signs)

I was given a futon & bed to use, as well as a bar-heater.  Other items to furnish my room were easily found ...In the gomi(rubbish), and the recycle shop around the corner (my favorite place).

All of these things & more create a space that I like to be in. Machida is a convenient place to live too.  You can find most things you want, and if not, Shibuya isn't too far away.
